Mercedes has released UK specs and prices for its new E-Class estate, with no less than 18 variants available including a highly-desirable new E63 AMG wagon. Apart from adopting the sharp lines of the saloon, the E-Class estate also sees a welcome 4% price reduction across the range.
First unveiled at Frankfurt last year, the latest AMG wagon will set buyers back a still hefty £73,855. However, as well as being slightly cheaper than the previous incarnation, there's also marginally more power at 518bhp, with 0-62mph now taking 4.6 seconds and top speed remaining at an electronically-limited 155mph.
The 6.3-litre naturally-aspirated V8 delivers a 465lb ft wodge of torque to the rear wheels, via AMG's latest 'Speedshift' 7-speed 'box, able to swap cogs in as little as 100 milliseconds - although with peak torque available all the way from 3,500rpm to 5,200rpm, you probably won't find yourself in the wrong gear too often.
Specially-tuned sports suspension ought to give the load-lugger a decent chance through the twisties, too. The self-levelling air suspension at the rear of all new E-Class estates is retained for the AMG version, with conventional steel springs up front.
As with the previous E63 AMG, all of this pace is obtained without denting the latest E's load capacity, with all 695-litres in this incarnation remaining entirely intact. That's roughly enough for your offspring's go-kart, according to the officially released happy snap below.
Most of the 'boggo' E-Class estate range is available now, but for the AMG version you'll have to hang on until March.
