240hp, front-wheel drive. Torquesteer, anyone?
To whet your appetite for the forthcoming Mito GTA, Alfa Romeo has released
this video of the new Mito GTA
, 'battling' with its 1960s GTA namesake on the Valencia F1 street circuit.
Alfa Romeo took the covers off the Mito GTA at the Geneva motor show back in March, revealing the most muscular version of the diminutive Alfa in all its glory.
Power comes from a 240hp turbocharged 1.8-litre version of Alfa's new range of direct-injection engines, while the company's Q2 electronic differential should help to minimise the traction and torquesteer horrors of the 147 and 156 GTAs.
Prices for the GTA should dip below £20k, and comfortably undercut its nearest rival, the 208hp Mini Cooper S JCW.
The real question is, of course, whether it was fair of Alfa to put the slightly bug-eyed Mito GTA up against the muscular grace of its racing forebear. We'll leave that one to you...
