Mitsubishi is to unveil its new concept sports coupe, the Concept-RA, to the world at the 2008 Detroit Motor Show in January, it has revealed.
Despite its rakish looks Mitsubishi confirmed the car will have a diesel engine, albeit a high performance unit.
The concept will feature Super All Wheel Control and the Twin Clutch SST automated manual transmission used in Lancer Evolution.
It will be powered by a new high-efficiency, low-emissions 2.2-liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve turbodiesel engine.
The Concept-RA also features a new body structure using an aluminium space frame made from extruded aluminium sections and die-cast aluminium members.
The bonnet and other outer panels will be made from high impact-resistance and easily recyclable plastic resin.
