Pictures of Mitsubishi’s answer to the Subaru Impreza hatch, the Prototype-S, were leaked on the Internet yesterday, but now we can bring you official images.
What you see here is pretty much what the Lancer Sportback will look like when it is launched later this year.
It uses the Lancer’s trademark ‘Jet Fighter’ grille (their words, not ours) and has an Evo X style bonnet.
There is a roof spoiler at the back and 19” alloys, showing that the firm intends to push the car into the sporting hatchback category.
Inside there is a black suede finish of the upper dashboard and door panels, with a light brown-coloured leather selected for its upholstery.
The concept will be on show at the Geneva Show next month.
