When 240bhp just isn't enough
If you thought KTM’s X-Bow wasn’t quite powerful enough, you’ll be pleased to hear that German tuner MTM has tweaked the flyweight track car to produce 314bhp.
Thanks to a revised turbo, new fuel injectors, air intake and filter, MTM has squeezed another 74bhp out of the standard 240bhp X-Bow. Maximum torque has risen too, up 81lb ft to 310lb ft, but apparently it arrives later at 3790rpm instead of the standard car’s 2000rpm.
The MTM X-Bow uses the standard car’s Brembo brakes to help reign in the extra power, and there’s still no servo assist or anti-lock. MTM hasn’t published an official figure for the 0-62mph time, but expect a significant improvement on the standard car’s sub 4second time. The upgrade costs €7382 (£6700) plus the £40k purchase price of the standard car.
MTM's TTS produces 375bhp
If being exposed to the elements in a carbon fibre tub isn’t up your street, MTM has also announced a new tuning package for the Audi TTS.
It gets an 8-piece body kit that and new 9-spoke Bimoto alloys, but the real excitement comes from a tuned 2.0-litre TFSI engine that has been up-rated to a claimed 375bhp.
