Performance-focused EVs continue to excite designers and entrepreneurs, as this latest battery powered roadster from German outfit E-Wolf will attest.
The e-1 roadster is a single-seat 'open-wheeler with mudguards' that, judging by the launch photography is aimed primarily at track day enthusiasts.
Apparently the car's light carbon fibre build means it weighs-in at just 500kgs, in spite of being laden with enough lithium-ion batteries to take it 200 miles on a charge, according to the manufacturers. Unfortunately, the build is so light that the car is limited to drivers weighing less than 70kgs - although we're not sure if this is for performance reasons, or because fat knackers like yours truly would break it like a twig.
Power comes from a 150hp electric motor
Either way, power comes from a 150hp induction motor with 185lb ft of torque which E-Wolf claims will be enough to rocket any driver who is built like a jockey from 0-62mph in fewer than five seconds and on to a top speed of 143mph. They'll have to be successful jockeys, mind, as the e-1 will cost 150k euros if you want to order one today.
E-Wolf has also provided renderings of its next project, the e-2 supercar. This one is still two years away, but offers the potential for even greater performance.
The e-2 has been conceived with a 544hp output divided between four electric motors - one at each wheel - and with a vehicle weight of just 900kgs, it should go like stink, even with a brace of Grand National winners aboard.
 Cost is £150k
