Mitsubishi have always offered many versions of its Lancer saloon and that doesn't look likely to change with the new model.
These pictures show the new Ralliart version of the Lancer, powered by a brand new 2.0-litre DOHC MIVEC, turbocharged and intercooled engine, which delivers approximately 235 BHP. To help shift things along the Ralliart features the new twin clutch SST gearbox with both manual and automatic changes available.
As you'd expect it's a permanent four wheel drive, with Mitsubishi's active centre differential which uses an electronically controlled multi plate clutch centre differential delivering torque to either the front or rear wheels according to the driving conditions.
Although this model sits beneath the Evolution it still looks aggressive enough with new front and rear bumpers, twin exhausts and a lightweight bonnet with ducts to aid turbo cooling.
No word on availability or UK pricing as yet, but the UK is seen as a significant market for this model.
