Subaru’s new Impreza polarised opinion when it was first launched, with many questioning the car’s new hatchback looks and its suitability for the rally scene.
However, one designer has seen the beauty beneath the Impreza’s skin and crafted his own three-door interpretation of the Japanese rally team’s racing Impreza. Known by his design alias ‘Grid’, the designer envisages an Impreza WRX STI with a distinctly wedge-like shape and rear three-quarter that bears a closer resemblance to the Volkswagen Scirocco than the new shape Scooby.
Grid has also been hard at work on a new look Honda S2000. No direct replacement is expected for the nippy little sports car but this rendering shows a more aggressive coupe loosely styled along the lines of the outgoing model. There’s a distinctly GT-R looking front and enormous side vents as well as a fixed hard top roof.
The drawings will never make production but we appreciate the designer’s effort for these two great looking flights of fancy.
