Remember the Porsche Targa roof? Not the sliding panel thing that the carmaker fits to its cars these days, the classic old school Targa top that was fitted to 911s for decades.
Many owners were sad at the demise of the slightly oddball but wonderfully retro Targa – but the good news for them it is back!
A German enthusiast who wanted that traditional Targa look in his new 997 has created one that will fit on to any convertible model.
It has the removable panel and built in roll bar that is infinitely more satisfying than the twin sliding sunroof that makes the Targa of today.
The Targa-style roof is developed by a company called VeloTech and it is available at a price of £5,000.
The reason for the high price is apparently because it is largely made from carbon fibre.
