The DVLA reckons there's nothing quite like a
personalised registration plate
to help disguise the exact age of your car, add a bit of sparkle to your motor, or even to give as a gift for a car-obsessed loved one.
And who are we to argue? Especially as DVLA Personalised Registrations is offering one lucky PHer the chance to win their very own personalised number plate up to the value of £500.
To sweeten the prize still further, our winning PHer will also get a pair of tickets for Everyman Racing's Supercar Thrill Experience. This will be held at Prestwold in Leicestershire, where you'll get to pick your choice of Aston Martin AMV8 or DB9, Ferrari 360 or 575, Nissan GTR R35, Porsche 997, Lamborghini Gallardo or an Audi R8 (subject to availability of course).
The experience will last about an hour and half and includes a safety briefing, demo laps and then 4 laps (each 1.8 miles long) in your chosen supercar.
If you aren't lucky enough to win the top prize, there are two extra pairs of tickets for the Everyman Racing Open Supercar Thrill Experience for two runners up.
Five pairs of tickets are also up for grabs for the Autosport show, which takes place 14-17 January and includes our very own PistonHeads Performance Car Show. Not a bad consolation prize, we reckon...

To enter, all you have to do is email competitions@pistonheads.com with the subject line 'DVLA giveaway', remembering to include your name and address. The competition closes at midday on 22 December, when the winners will be picked at random from the PH electronic fedora. We'll notify the winners with in 24 hours of the competition's closing date.
Other than that all you need to do is make sure the reg plate you want is less than £500 and is available on the DVLA's Personalised Registrations website, that you fit the terms and conditions below, and that you can get to Prestwold.

Track day vouchers are valid for 10 months.
All winners must hold a valid full driving licence.
Drivers under 5'1" or over 6'4" and/or weighing over 17 stone may have difficulty being accommodated on the track day.
No cash alternative for any of the prizes.
The personalised registration is up to the value of £500 and must be one that is available on http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk
If, for any reason beyond the promoter's control, it is not possible to provide the stated prizes, the promoter reserves the right to award alternative prizes. The promoter's choice of alternative prize is final.
