Long-term PHer Sam Williams (samwilliams) is planning to row 2,500 miles across the Atlantic, solo, at the end of 2007 -- and hopes to raise a lot of money for charity.
Sam said: "I'm going to be rowing across the Atlantic Ocean (by myself). Don't ask me why. It's a silly idea, I know. I just couldn't come up with a decent reason why not."
His main priority right now is to attract corporate sponsorship me, either financially or through donations of services/equipment he needs for the event. This will enable him to concentrate on preparations, and raising money through private donations for charity.
He is in need of money to cover the race costs and boat purchase -- and a new Web site -- Sam described the current one as "pitiful!".
Row? Without an engine? Good luck Sam!
