The world-famous Richard Petty Driving Experience has announced their
operational dates and prices for the Rockingham Motor Speedway, Britain's
first-ever high-speed, banked superspeedway track, near Corby in
Northamptonshire.
The experience which offers members of the public the chance to drive
or ride in a top-line NASCAR racing car at speeds of well over 150 mph,
have been a major attraction in the USA for more than a decade.
The cars will operate at Rockingham on 24-28th and 30-31st August,
6th-10th and 13-16th September, offering guests the chance to experience
the 700+ horsepower V8 NASCAR racers either as driver of passenger. A
three-lap 'Ride-Along' programme, as passenger to a professional
instructor will cost just £50.
The 'Rookie Experience', which gives 8 laps behind the wheel of the
race car will cost £225, while the longer 'Kings Experience', with 18
laps in two sessions will cost £495. The ultimate, the 'Experience of a
Lifetime'; offering 30 laps in three driving sessions, costs £825.
