'Cor, I'll be the coolest cabbie in town...'
Before Christmas we bought you news that possibly the
last ‘new’ Rovers were to be auctioned
and you may or may not be interested to know that somebody actually bought them.
In the end they were a bit of a bargain, if new Rovers are your thing, and could turn out to be a shrewd investment when all the others finally fall apart.
The cars had been in storage since MG Rover collapsed in 2005 and were never previously made available for sale.
The Rover 75 V8 with Mustang power was arguably the most desirable and sold for £16,000.
The Rover 75 Limousine was one of a limited number produced on the long-wheel base version of the 75 chassis.
Finished in light metallic grey with dark grey leather interior, it sold for £13,400.
Finally the MG TF 160, finished in metallic blue with black hood and leather interior, sold for £11,000.
