Remember those heady days when you could just go and buy yourself a brand spanking new Rover?
Well good news for those who loved the ‘experience’ of buying British, possibly the last three ‘as new’ Rovers have come up for sale.
Somehow these cars have remained in storage since Rover’s collapse in 2005 and haven’t been snapped up by an enthusiast.
But now they have been wheeled out and will soon be up for auction.
Luckily they are not three diesel 75’s and are actually quite interesting, or one is at least.
Not only is there one of the few Rover 75 Limousine and MG TF 160, but one of those odd but strangely desirable 75 V8’s.
All come with delivery mileage and registered on 0757 plates and are the last of the UK built Rovers.
The Rover 75 V8 was launched in 2004 and is powered by the Mustang 4.6 litre V8 engine. It had a deep front grille and was reasonably well received by the motoring press who liked its old school ways.
At its launch the Rover press release said: ‘The return of the illustrious Rover V8 combines perfectly with the distinctive identity of this high-specification flagship… it is a product of distinction and presence.’
The model on offer is finished in dark metallic blue with leather interior.
The TF is finished in metallic blue with black hood and leather interior and sits on 11-spoke alloy wheels.
If you really want one of these Rovers they will be available at the Blackbushe auction centre.
