Last week Rockingham Speedway played host to the final of the 2003 Scrapheap Challenge. The teams were given the task of building race cars from scrap in just 20 hours.
The final was split into three tests on two of Rockingham’ race tracks. The first two were time trials, with the second including a Pitstop to spice things up. The final test was a head to head race where the two cars completed three laps of the circuit.
Which team became the 2003 champions? You’ll have to wait until the Autumn when the new series gets underway on Channel 4.
