How many times have you heard of a new hypercar coming to Geneva that promises to change the face of fast cars for the super wealthy? Probably quite a few. However, the Vanda Dendrobium project enters the fray with more credibility than most from the off. How? The involvement of Williams Advanced Engineering as technical partner.
It's the key point of a brief press release from Vanda, with more information due in the weeks leading up to March. Williams of course has EV experience from collaborating with Jaguar on the
C-X75 concept
Formula E batteries
Nissan agreement
too, though we're yet to see anything from that relationship yet.
As technical partners Williams is to work on the Dendrobium's aero and composites as well as the batteries, while also assisting in future development. Vanda says the Geneva car "mixes striking design with the latest in e-powertrain development".
Also confirmed at this stage is an interior upholstered in Bridge of Weir leather, indeed the world's lowest carbon leather. Vanda CEO Larissa Tan says the Dendrobium is "inspired by nature and rooted in technology, a marriage of design and engineering". So if you thought low carbon leather was a bit much, expect plenty more to come!
