90 years of heritage - and Blue!
A PHer rarely has an excuse to be bored at the weekend, and this one is no exception. This Friday sees the kickoff of the three-day festival known as the 'Silverstone Classic', at the famous circuit in Northamptonshire.
These days the Classic has grown into a sort of hybrid motorsport and music festival, and possibly the only place where you'll see classic sports and racing cars alongside The Pussycat Dolls, Toploader (remember them?) and Blue. Suffice to say, the music bit is optional...
"So, er, have you owned it from new..?"
More to PH's taste, the event will see over 600 modern and classic racing cars take part in over 20 races, and upwards of 4,000 classic cars from various clubs on display. There's also celebrity racing (presumably in cars, we're not certain), a Harley Davidson stand with stunt displays and demo rides, an air display and what the blurb describes as a 'Victorian Fun Fair'.
Tickets start at £25 for Friday, with a full 3-day pass available for £79.
