Ford's current plans to create a more global policy for its cars - and its performance cars in particular - has pricked up the ears of Steeda Autosports, creators of one of the most extensive ranges of Ford tuning parts in the world.
don't expect this, though...
The result? Steeda Autosports is heading to the UK for the first time, with a range of parts for the Fiesta and Focus. If you've never heard of Steeda, their production-based vehicles have won more championships, set more track records, and won more races than their competitors - Shelby, Saleen, and Roush - combined (this is what they tell us at least).
Unfortunately, Steeda won't be bringing in the $80,000-plus (£51,400) 'Streetfighter' Mustang and, with its 690hp and 640lb ft, that most definitely seems a shame, but it's interesting to see a significant US-based Ford tuner with its eye firmly on the UK.
...it'll be more like this
Initially, the stuff available in the UK will be a selection of suspension parts, a Steeda shortshifter, and a cold air intake kit. Parts for the new Focus should follow. As new models of the Ford Global Platforms arrive, Steeda promises it will continue to expand its UK operation.
