Allow us to introduce the Mercedes McLaren SLR 722 Perfectus, an unusually modified SLR from ASMA Design.
The German outfit, run by designer Erturul Asma, has seen fit to equip the very exclusive SLR 722 with an aggressive looking full carbon fibre body kit and increase the car’s already substantial 641bhp output.
Thanks to a modified ECU, new exhaust system and uprated compressor, the Perfectus is said to produce 690bhp and will reach a top speed by 217mph. That’s an improvement of 7mph over the standard SLR 722.
The extensive body kit has allowed ASMA to fit its own custom 20-inch wheels.
Apparently there is only one Perfectus, and its price of €1m means it commands a premium of around £650k over the SLR 722.
The press release accompanying the Perfectus ends with the following apology: ‘Only Erturul ASMA can make and prove his claims of perfection, but he must also apologise… apologise to all the owners of standard SLRs everywhere, for there can be only one Perfectus.’
Perhaps Erturul should have signed off with a more straightforward apology to the SLR’s creators.
