It’s not often that Canada gets a mention anywhere, let alone on PH’s illustrious pages, so we’re pleased to offer this classic Porsche tribute for your consideration.
The W3 Triposto Porsche is a three-seat speedster designed and manufactured by Wingho Auto Classique from Montreal, based on early 1990s 911 running gear and described as a stylistic tribute to the 1958 Porsche 718 RSK.
Performance features include a blueprinted flat-six 3.6 engine good for 260bhp and fully adjustable suspension, while the visually arresting coachbuilt body has McLaren-style three-abreast seating and scissor-type swing-up doorlets.
Wingho will knock off a bespoke version of the W3 Triposto for any customer who rocks up with a 911 base car and roughly $250,000. ‘This car is for people who appreciate good design and engineering and money is no objective – like Jay Leno for instance,’ the company says. If 260bhp and early 911 running gear won’t groove your truffles, Wingho will also do a similar custom job on your late model 911 Turbo.
