Ford has produced this one-off special Mustang with an aviation theme to help support a charity auction at the ‘Gathering of Eagles’ war bird festival in Oshkosh, USA, next week.
Called the Mustang AV-X10, this factory-built special features a World War II fighter-inspired paint scheme with orange trim on the nose and tail, a white tail stripe and even ‘Dearborn Doll’ fuselage-style pin-up art on the flanks. The treatment even extends to orange paint highlights on the wheel rims designed to evoke painted propeller-tips. There’s a USAF-style ‘star and bar’ graphic on the glass roof, and body mods include GT500 rear spoiler and apron, as well as GT500 19ins wheels.
Under the bonnet, the AV-X10 gets a 550bhp supercharger from Ford Racing Performance Parts, as well as a sports exhaust and handling pack. Inside there’s an aircraft-themed pack and an aluminium dash - but we still like the aircraft in these official Ford images more!
