Christmas is a time for giving they say, and Ford has gotten itself into the spirit with the unveiling of the Focus RS Red Edition. Of course Christmas is also the time for overzealous marketing ideas, too - and the fact that the limited-edition variant revolves solely around the Race Red paint job does rather say all you need to know about the new model.
Nevertheless, it is based on the RS Edition, which means that you get 350hp and the Quaife mechanical limited-slip differential which was previously missing from the standard car's front axle. You also get a healthy amount of standard kit, including the black cast 19in alloy wheels, grey Brembo four-piston callipers, part-leather Recaro seats, rear parking sensors, cruise control, keyless entry and a heated steering wheel.
Moreover, you'll be driving one of only 300 cars. Or one of only 300 Race Red cars in the UK at any rate; the colour was previously made available with the RS overseas, just not in the UK where white, grey, black and blue have always been in the standard paint choices.
Slightly more appealingly, there's also a fair chance that your Red Edition will be one of the very last RS models rolling down the production line. With the current Focus expected to be replaced in the new year, and the limited-edition version not due until Feburary, there won't be many more right-hand-drive cars left to build. Yours for £36,295 and available to order now.
