While Porsche isn't typically associated with the mad world of one-off exclusive supercars, its Exclusive department has in fact been creating personalised Porsches for more than 30 years. Now, to mark a 'Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur' rebranding, there's this: the
911 Turbo S
Not going to lose it at night then...
There will be just 500 produced for the whole world, but the far more important number here is 607. No, not the failed Peugeot exec saloon, but the power output of this 911: 27hp more than standard, it's only 13 less than the old GT2 RS and - correct us if we're wrong here - makes the Exclusive Series the most powerful 911 Turbo yet. While the 0-62mph time remains the same at 2.9 seconds, Porsche is claiming the 0-124mph time is now down three tenths to 9.6 seconds. Remember when really, really fast cars did 0-100mph in less than 10 seconds? Madness.
You aren't looking for the numbers though. You're looking at the "unique design, high end choice of materials... and luxurious details", right? Now it should be said that other colours beyond Golden Yellow Metallic are available - Porsche hasn't announced exactly which ones yet - but it sounds like the carbon strips over the car, the Turbo Aerokit and 'Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur' motifs are standard. The Exclusive Series also comes with 20-inch wheels and ceramic brakes, though both now have - you've guessed it - Golden Yellow highlights. Those carbon strips draw attention to the fact that the bonnet, roof and side skirts are made from it. Always useful to take weight away from high up in the car, isn't it?
Now THIS is how you accessorise
The carbon, Golden Yellow and new badging triumvirate continue to work their magic inside, the interior also treated to fine copper thread in the dashboard carbon. If that wasn't enough, there's both a watch and a five-piece luggage set available to accompany your Exclusive Series 911 Turbo. The watch is £8,700 and the luggage set price is TBC, but it looks like this could very easily become a near-£200K 911 Turbo S.
No, seriously. The base price of this Exclusive Edition is £186,916, and it can be ordered right now from an OPC. Sure, it may not be quite as PH as a manual GT3, but do you think Porsche will have any difficulty selling them? Exactly. Coming to a high street near you soon!
