Lotus is a loved British brand on PH, the current motto 'light is right' an evolution of founder Colin Chapman's original minimalist manifesto. With the heaviest car in the current range weighing less than 1,500kg it's held true to its values too, so when a road car is built with inspiration from a racing version you know it's going to be good.
One of the happier legacies of the Bahar period at Hethel, the Lotus Evora GTE took inspiration from the Evora race car. The S's 350hp supercharged V6 was boosted to 440hp and the car went on an intense carbon-fibre rich diet, saving 100kg for an all-up weight of just 1,227kg. You can understand his pride, given he is lucky enough to have purchased one of the 20 examples delivered. His being 4/20 and the only manual 2+2 example manufactured - he sold his Lotus Omega and early Evora to fund it. The sharp lines and aggressively wider arches make this GTE stand out among the plethora of sports cars and it looks stunning!
