Newly crowned champion Dermot Carnegie will lead the entry when Rallycross returns to Brands Hatch for the first time in seven years for the final round of the MSA British Rallycross Champion on November 15th and 16th.
Carnegie clinched the title during the dramatic ninth round of the ten-event championship at the end of September, his fourth win of the year coming on a day when leading title rivals Pat Doran and Will Gollop both encountered problems that ended their championship hopes. Even though the championship has been decided the Brands Hatch event will be as well contested as any other race of the year as the prospect of returning to the Kent venue is something that drivers have long been looking forward to.
"It's been the toughest and most competitive championship I've ever taken part in and I'm delighted to have won it." said Carnegie, "I'll still be at Brands Hatch, I think it will be the high point of the year because so many drivers have been looking forward to going back there and there seems to be a lot of enthusiasm for the event among fans as well."
For Gollop and Doran the event remains important as second place in the championship has to be settled between the two, and with the event taking place in their home county, there is also the matter of local honour at stake for the two immensely popular drivers.
