We don't even have the Corvette Stingray
in the UK yet
and already American tuners are tweaking its LT1 V8. The latest work is from Hennessey, so the performance upgrades are fairly substantial.
Brake upgrade advisable with 1,000hp...
Fancy 1,000hp in a C7? No problem, the HPE1000 Twin Turbo package will see to that. Also available in detuned 800 plus supercharged 600 and 700 variants, Hennessey's tweaks are predictably comprehensive given the huge power gains. The HPE600 is essentially the Eaton TVS2300 supercharger, ECU remap and some induction work, but opt for the turbocharged cars and forged engine internals, intercoolers and new exhausts are also included.
Hennessey also has some natty exterior upgrades too, including carbon aero accessories and monoblock wheels. Carbon ceramic brakes and a Penske suspension upgrade also feature on the extras list, as well as a few interior trinkets.
The prices rival the power outputs for absurdity. The HPE700 package will cost $18,450 in the US, with the twin-turbo upgrades retailing at $54,950 for the HPE800 and $67,950 for the HPE1000. Add those to a standard $51,995 C7 costs and some silly numbers result; a 1000hp Stingray could be bought for $119,945, or about £79,000. With a 12-month warranty. God bless America!
