The last time we heard from MS-RT was a Transit rather different to the one you see here, that being the one-off camper van commission. That cost nearly £80k. Now the team are back in more familiar territory - jazzing up Transits for regular van duties - with this, the MS-RT Custom R185.
While it sounds more like a hoover, the 185 is actually a response to the popularity of the rally-influenced MS-RT Transit Customs already available. According to Founding Director Edward Davies, customers wanted “even more bespoke”; to that end all of the vans will be Slate Grey with red and black accents and 18-inch OZ wheels. Further features making the R185 out include a carbon steering wheel, a red-stitched leather interior and gloss black exhaust tips.
Speaking of which, the latest MS-RT creation comes with a ‘Maxhaust’ system. Don’t get too excited, as it isn’t an Aventador-style central tunnel of an exhaust, instead technology to “deliver the sounds of a sports exhaust through the van’s integral speakers.” Hmm. MS-RT also believes that the soundtrack will “match its impressive road dynamics.”
Interested parties will have the choice of long- or short-wheelbase vans from MS-RT, as well as a manual or automatic gearbox. Just 40 will be made, each costing £37,995 plus VAT. If that’s too much, or you don’t like grey, there is a white Transit that’s already had previous MS-RT treatment for sale on PH - it’s yours for £25,000.
