Supercharged Mustang: Reader's Car of the Week

While the Ford Mustang has long been a tuner's favourite in its homeland, the car's relative scarcity in the UK has made fettled examples pretty rare. Now, though, with the Mustang having been offered in right-hand drive for four years, and everybody from Revo to Steeda offering upgrades, we're seeing far more modified Mustangs in the UK.

There's one more to add to the list now, with PHer 'CraigJ' having succumbed to temptation (and some boredom) with his 5.0-litre GT. Following a few cosmetic changes (badges, grilles and the like), Craig ended up browsing superchargers - it wasn't long before an Edelbrock 2300 was on the way to him.

Now with the 'charger installed and mapped, the Mustang is producing 618hp and 547lb ft at the wheels, a huge gain over standard. According to Craig, the power is usable once the tyres are warmed though "you can spin the tyres at 70/80 if you try."

That's far from the end, either. Craig has plans for 800hp "because I wanted to own something silly power at least once", so next up is going to be larger injectors, a new throttle body and intake work - we'll be watching with interest!
