Given everything currently going on at Aston Martin, the DBZ Centenary Collection pairing of DB4 and DBS might have been forgotten. Well, those who've paid £6m for the privilege of owning them probably haven't, but you see the point - there are bigger things going on.
Still, as these pictures prove, progress continue apace on the DBS GT part of package (the other being one of those extraordinarily lovely DB4 Zagato continuation cars). These are a little more significant than regular spy shots, too, as it's the first time we've seen a physical GT Zagato rather than just a rendering.
Unsurprisingly, it looks much how those images implied, with recognisable DBS proportions given a sprinkling of the Zagato fairy dust. Note the gaping grille, more angular headlights, reprofiled bonnet, jazzier wheels and trademark double-bubble roof, for starters. While we're on hallmarks, the DBS features the ornate circular tail lights that you might remember from cars like the Vanquish and V12 Vantage Zagatos.
No great shocks as far as the DBS GT Zagato goes, then, though the last thing anyone would want with millions on the line - and a very encouraging virtual sneak peak - is anything unexpected. As one of the hopeless hoi-polloi, however, it could well be said that this GT, as is often the way with the Zagato cars, is actually fussier and less attractive than the DBS on which it's based. But, because it's a Zagato version, it's automatically much cooler. Funny old world.
The first of the 19 DB4s allocated should have reached buyers by the end of 2019 so presumably their corresponding DBS GTs aren't too far behind - given the apparent completeness of this prototype. What a pair they will make.
