Esprit owners from around the UK gathered recently to assist in the filming of a documentary. The gathering was Organised by LotusEspritWorld.com and the film shot by Mandrill Television. It's expected to be output both on video/DVD and on TV.
The documentary features individual owner profiles with examples of Esprits from the S1 through to the latest V8 as well as footage of the last ever Esprits on the production line in Hethel. Enthusiasts, experts, historians and Lotus employees past and present are all featured.
The action sequences were filmed at Throckmorton where the cars indulged in a bit of hooning! Owners were interviewed and filmed doing high speed runs as well as the Mike Haines Racing GT1 car (ex factory). There was even a road going race replica with a healthy 450bhp.
Extra filming was carried out at the Stoneleigh show earlier in the year. The programme is expected to be complete by February and it's hoped to be aired after that.
