Remember the David Brown Mini 'Remastered'? In much the same vein as Singer's 'reimagined' Porsches, it takes an original car and thoroughly renovates it, bringing it up to a condition which its progenitors could only have dreamt of it one day reaching. That not only means a sumptuously redesigned interior, where swathes of leather and tastefully integrated modcons abound, but also 95hp and 87lb ft from its original 1,330cc engine. Oh, and a £100,000 price tag.
Now the company - which also builds the Aston Martin DB5-inspired Speedback GT - has a new version to entice those wealthy enough to afford it. The same basic car as before, it comes equipped with a Webasto electric panoramic sunroof, beneath which can be found an interior clad in beach-themed marine-grade waterproof PU leather and Kvadrat premium fabric.
This is mirrored by a two-tone exterior theme, in this case 'Day Tripper White' and 'Electron Blue' and again features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. It sounds like a thoroughly lovely way to traverse the city on a summer's day, or pop down to the coast from your country home. Then again, for the price of a barely-used V12 Vantage S, it ought to be!
