Aaron Scott and his Master Motorsport team mate Steven Brady suffered a frustratingly short race on Sunday. Things were looking promising following a strong showing in Round 7 at Oulton Park, and testing went well throughout Friday in preparation for Sunday¹s race. Further progress was made on Saturday where, during qualifying, Brady set the 6th fastest time. Then disaster struck as a major engine fault destroyed the oil pump leaving the team with only a handful of completed qualifying laps.
Engineers worked furiously overnight to rebuild the engine and the car was able to take up its position on the grid. However at the end of lap three, the Omnico sponsored car lost oil pressure and was forced into an early retirement.
Aaron Scott said,
"We are all very disappointed with the result today, especially after the promise we showed at Oulton Park. The car had a lot more potential than we were able to show. We hope to have a new engine for Thruxton and I am confident we will be back on form there in 2 weeks time."
