After more than two years of development, Lister has officially launched its F-Pace-based Stealth. The 675hp super-SUV can hit 60mph in 3.6 seconds and crack 195mph. To achieve that, the powertrain and chassis have been uprated, raising the Stealth significantly above the 5.0 SVR – and helping to justify the £109,950 starting price for each of the 100 cars to make production.
While it doesn’t earn the title of world’s fastest SUV as initially hoped - thanks to the 196mph Abt RSQ8-R that pipped it to the post two weeks ago - Lister’s creation doesn’t look any less appealing. It centres around that vocal supercharged eight, which matches the F-Type-based LFT for power, but gets more muscle in the form of 650lb ft of torque. The offer of bespoke suspension that can be set to each customer’s requirements emphasises the car’s enthusiast potential.
Lister certainly knows how to extract more from Jaguar products; its upgrade armoury includes a higher spec supercharger pulley, intercooler and air filter for the V8, along with a custom remap for the engine control unit. In the Stealth, there’s a freer-flowing and carbon-tipped exhaust system and wider front intakes to ensure it’s all maximised. Providing the mechanical grip to match are a set of 285mm-wide Continentals, wrapped around 23-inch rims that are bespoke to the Stealth.
Attention has been devoted to the body, too, with carbonfibre pieces added at the front and rear, including a wide mouth and slatted intakes on the nose, and a prominent diffuser at the back. Lister green lipstick emphasises the grille, while the same shade is applied to the brake calipers and as well as the interior stitching. Alongside that, Lister’s work includes a complete retrimming of the SVR’s bucket seats and dash with black leather and, of course, the Lister logo on the headrests. It’s all very, well, stealthy.
Looks good, right? And with the SVR base already having proven itself as a tremendously capable machine, we’d hedge that Lister’s work will result in something really rather special to drive. We’re hopeful, anyway – and rest assured PH is doing its best to get behind the wheel of the new Stealth as soon as possible. With that in mind, be sure to watch this black and green space closely.
