Despite the huge resentment such cars seem to garner, the stream of 500hp plus SUVs continues unabated. So ready to do battle with other irrelevant, irreverent 4x4s including the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, BMW X5 M and Mercedes ML63 AMG is this, the Overfinch Range Rover Sport.
Just chillin in the pit garage...
560hp is the headline power figure from a Performance Pack, 50hp on the regular supercharged V8 thanks to a remap, exhaust and tweaks to the supercharger. Apparently weight is down too because of the carbon body parts but we'd have to assume the difference is minimal given a specific figure is absent.
Despite press images with the car on track (is that Brands Hatch?), no further mechanical upgrades have been confirmed. But then the standard Sport seemed to cope admirably with Pikes Peak so a track day or two should pose no problem, right? Coming to a paddock near you soon, Overfinch hopes...
Elsewhere the Overfinch RRS is as expected; personalisation is prioritised, with plenty of options for inside and out to to make it as ostentatious as desired. The body kit is standard so why not go all out on the kitsch factor?
Perhaps the biggest obstacle the Overfinch Sport will face is that Range Rover is creating its own over-and-above-the-V8 flagship. Expected to be the RS, it could well offer everything that appeals to a certain customer about the Overfinch straight from the factory. No doubt they will be snapped up very swiftly.
