There’s no such thing as a bad Alpine A110; whether faster and firmer or plusher and pricier, the innate genius of the package always shines through. It’s simply too good a sports car for any version to be anything but brilliant, so here’s another variation on the theme: the Alpine A110 J. Rédélé.
Monsieur Jean Rédélé is perhaps not the household name that Enzo Ferrari or Ferruccio Lamborghini might be, but as the founder of Alpine he was always going to be remembered at some point in this A110’s lifetime. Now is that moment, with 2022 marking 100 years since Rédélé was born, so please welcome the A110 GT Jean Rédélé Limited Edition.
Built from the 300hp GT model (perhaps our favourite of all the A110s), the JR is marked out by Montebello Grey “that Jean Rédélé was particularly fond of”, a gloss black roof and silver brake calipers. The theme is continued inside, with grey stitching for the black leather; a build plaque with Rédélé’s signature is also standard. Optional equipment includes the Focal Premium Audio, Alpine Telemetrics and heated seats.
Revealed at an Alpine celebration in Dieppe over the weekend, the Jean Rédélé Limited Edition will go on sale this Wednesday, June 1st. Alpine will build just 100 examples of the centenary special, and it’s on the UK site, though it’s not clear yet how many cars will be allocated for here. Expect a premium over the £59,440 a standard GT costs, and keep an eye on your Alpine app come Wednesday.
