DTM racers are among the coolest looking cars to ever take to a track. What, after all, isn't to like about V8 coupes with ludicrous wheelarch extensions, massively aggressive aero and side exhausts with frickin' flames coming out of them?

None of which, sadly, feature on the A5 DTM Champion limited edition Audi will build 300 examples of in celebration of Mike Rockenfeller's recent sealing of the DTM championship before the final races have even been run.
Indeed, the car isn't even based on the sole V8 still in the range, the RS5. But you can have it with ... a 2.0 TDI. Which would look just dandy with the fixed rear wing, 20-inch wheels and 'aluminium look' mirror casings.
Available to order from October 21 the package adds 1,900 euros to the price of the A5 of your choosing. But only if you live in Germany, an Audi UK spokesman confirming that the A5 DTM won't be coming to the UK.
Not quite as appealing as the A4 DTM, sadly

are currently in the PH classifieds from a UK allocation of 250 cars. Something of a sleeper, the A4 DTM was based on the 2.0-litre turbo A4 saloon and tickled to 220hp. A 20mm suspension drop, special alloys and a Recaro enhanced interior all featured, the need-to-know bodykit and businesslike stance combining for a respectable looking stealth sports saloon and something of a forgotten hero.
