Even as early as January, it was clear that Porsche was taking its 75th anniversary year very seriously indeed - the sensational Vision 357 saw to that. Now it’s confirmed a lavish summer garden party to mark the big occasion, otherwise known as being the celebrated brand at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Expect it all then, from hill runs in iconic sports cars past and present (and likely future), legendary personalities from motorsport, immersive displays and a stunning static collection of Stuttgart’s finest. As is tradition for the celebrated brand, Porsche will also have a sculpture on the Duke’s lawn, the fourth time the manufacturer has enjoyed the privilege. The 2023 installation will be designed by Gerry Judah, the man behind a lot of recent FoS structures that defy belief. With all that heritage to pack in (and up), plus Judah as the driving creative force, expect something spectacular.
With Goodwood itself celebrating 75 years of motorsport in 2023, it ought to be an unmissable Festival of Speed. “Porsche has been one of our most loyal and enthusiastic partners, supporting the Festival of Speed since 1995, and the Revival since 2010,” said The Duke of Richmond and Gordon. “This year Porsche will become the first manufacturer to create the Central Feature at the Festival of Speed for the fourth time, underlining the huge success of this iconic manufacturer as we both celebrate a milestone of 75 years.”
Porsche GB’s CEO, Krishan Bodhani, added: “We’re delighted that Goodwood is giving us this brilliant opportunity to share our passion with enthusiasts, Porsche fans and owners here in the UK… The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the perfect setting for us to celebrate our anniversary.” The ‘Goodwood 75’ themed FoS will take place from July 13th to 16th. Even with almost three months to go, tickets only remain for Thursday - get yours here.
