In all honesty most people can probably now guess the GTS Porsche embellishments without any official information. The new Macan follows exactly the template established by the GTS versions of the Boxster, Cayman, 911 and Cayenne. Oh, and Panamera. A little more power, a little more sportlich inside and out plus all the optional extras most people add on anyway.
Absolutely no surprises here
So the Macan GTS has 360hp from its 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6, 20hp more than the S but 40hp less than the Turbo. The claimed 0-62mph time is 5.2 seconds - or five flat with Sport Chrono - compared to 5.4 for the S and 4.8 for the Turbo.
As is the GTS way now, there are exterior accents in black and some fancy wheels, this time the 20-inch RS Spyder wheels. They're black too, of course. It's lowered by 15mm on the standard PASM, the brakes are 'reinforced' and a sports exhaust is fitted too. Inside there's a smattering of Alcantara, GTS sports seats and the new PCM from the updated 911. All as per usual.
If you don't like Macans then, the GTS won't be the car to change your mind. Those people that do - and there seem to be plenty at the moment - will surely find plenty to enjoy. Porsche will charge 73,400 euros fors its 'sports car among compact SUVs' in Germany, with UK prices to follow.
