Brabus has announced similar treatment to that given to the AMG GT 63 for the G63. This comes in the form of two limited-run cars, the Black Ops 800 and Shadow 800, both with 800hp, 737lb ft propelling them from 0-62mph in just 4.1 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 150mph.
Just 10 examples of each variant will be available, with performance remaining the same across the two models. The differences lie in level of spec - and naked carbon - attributed to each of the two, although both will receive Brabus' Widestar bodykit including new fender flares, front and rear bumpers, hood scoops, additional LED lighting units and 23-inch forged Brabus Monoblock F 'Black Platinum Special Edition' wheels, as well as custom sports exhausts.
Pricing for the Black Ops 800 kicks off at €275,055 whereas the Shadow 800 costs rather more at €327,621.
ORIGINAL STORY - 29.05.19
800hp. 737lb ft. 0-62 in 2.9 seconds. A limited top speed of 196mph. Most performance saloons claim to match numbers laid down by supercars of just a generation or two ago, but few can boast the ability to match modern day track machines. Making its debut at Top Marques Monaco 2019 is one such car, though, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63-based Brabus 800.
Its entry into such exalted Top Trump territory comes largely thanks Brabus' PowerXtra B40S-800 performance pack which involves the application of two newly-designed high-performance turbochargers to the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. With larger compressor units and modified core assemblies, the turbos produce a maximum boost pressure of 1.6 bar, resulting in an additional 161hp and 74lb ft over the standard car.
Being Brabus, a stainless-steel active sports exhaust is of course thrown in for good measure. Featuring 90mm titanium and carbon tailpipe sections, the it not only serves as a fitting visual indicator of the car's added potency, but also delivers a suitable audio accompaniment as well. This is available to order with or without the power upgrade, although the phrase all mouth and no trousers does come to mind for those looking to cut such a significant corner.
Various exterior carbon packages are naturally available too, while inside perforated black leather seats with Alcantara inserts, stainless-steel scuff plates featuring backlit Brabus logos and aluminium pedals complete the look. Should all that sound like an appealing package - and how could it not? - the Brabus 800 can be ordered either as a complete car or as an upgrade package for an existing GT 63 S. So what're you waiting for? Oh, a Euromillions win? Us too.
