How appropriate that, at the time of year when you typically find yourself reflecting on the last 12 months, one of the very best videos of 2017 has arrived. It's been produced by Ruf to celebrate 200,000 likes
on Facebook
; if this is what's on offer for that many likes, what on earth will happen at a million?!
The video, Wolf of the Autostrada, is fantastic. It doesn't appear to make an awful lot of sense, it should be longer, and on YouTube it's only in 720p, but it's five minutes of pure joy nonetheless.
Here's a brief synopsis: there's a Ruf CTR, a Ferrari Testarossa, a Lamborghini Countach and an Aston Martin Vantage. Good start. They're driven by chaps you might know, including Valentino Balboni, Stefan Roser and Sam Hancock. Getting better. This isn't just cruising around either: there are locked brakes, powerslides, burnouts and what would appear to be some very high speeds. Marvellous.
All this is in addition to a fantastic 80s soundtrack, some incredible pastel suits and more than enough engine noise from six, eight and 12 cylinders. Watch it. Watch it now. Then watch it again. Bravo Ruf!
