For a good few years now, the Isuzu D-Max AT35 has attracted something close to a cult following in the UK. No, seriously; the combination of the D-Max's formidable reputation with the skillset of Arctic Trucks and has resulted in a very popular pick up. Need proof? Not only has Isuzu revealed a pre-production version of the new AT35 ahead of a full debut next year, but the old ones also keep their value like classic Porsches: this one is still £33,995 after more than 50,000 miles of use...
The new AT35 D-Max is follows the template laid out by the previous models. So, the chassis has been toughened up by Arctic Trucks (though it hasn't been made clear exactly how just yet), Bilstein suspension has been fitted and a new 35-inch tyre with all-terrain wheel has been fitted. Isuzu reckons the modifications "offer confidence when driving off-road while the AT35 drives with a great deal of comfort and control." Nobody inside will forget what they're riding in, either, with Arctic Trucks-banded floor mats, headrests and sill covers. That's in addition to the D-Max standard kit, which includes an eight-speaker stereo with subwoofer, dual-zone climate control, autonomous emergency braking, smartphone mirroring and an HDMI port. The AT35 keeps the standard D-Max's five-year/125,000-mile warranty, too.
