PHers know better than anyone about the hidden costs of TVR ownership. Regular maintenance is essential to avoid unforeseen bills (or discover them before they get even bigger!) a fact that ollyh1988 was reminded of when he took his recently acquired Tuscan for its big 12,000-mile service. Thankfully, the important bits – namely this car’s Powers-rebuilt 3.6-litre straight-six – were in good order.
That came as a relief to our hero, because his last experience with a Tuscan was plagued with engine woes. This red one, however, needed far less financially damaging clutch and brake replacements, to bring it back to its best. The OP reports that the drive home from Powers’ workshop was appropriately loud thanks to the vocals of that naturally aspirated six.
The longstanding TVR fan is not done there, obviously. He’s intent on making the car immaculate, so much so that some paintwork damage – said to be caused by a previous owner’s removal of paint protection film – may yet be fixed with a full respray. That’s quite the spend on a car that, from the pictures at least, looks to be in pretty fine condition.
