Owner/driver Cliff Jobson and constructor Track Car Solutions (TCS) will be racing a TVR T350 in the Dunlop Tuscan Challenge Cup next year -- a big step forward after two seasons with a twin turbo 24-valve Tasmin.
In 2007 the T350 will line up alongside the Tuscan racers, the Sagaris-bodied, Tuscan chassis cars, the modified Griffiths and Chimaeras and the Tasmins in what promises to be the most diverse grid ever assembled in TVR racing. The team's current Turbo Tasmin will also be available for hire with a full race support package.
Sponsorship activity
Much activity has been going on behind the scenes assessing suitability of current TVR models and assembling a team of technical specialists and sponsors committed to a successful racing programme. As a result, the partnership has announced partnerships with TVR Craft, Protech, Silverstone Performance and Solafloor.
Track Car Solutions will draw on its experience of racing, tuning and modifying TVR sports cars to oversee the race car build and development programme. TVR Craft is the engine builder, using its engineering expertise and knowledge of the Speed Six makes them to build and maintain the engine, clutch and gearbox package.
The suspension design and development will be in conjunction with Protech Dampers with whom TCS already has a good working relationship. Road-going double adjustable dampers will draw directly on the testing and feedback generated during the development programme on the T350 racer.
The car's lightweight SP12 racing wheels from TVR specialist Silverstone Performance are 25 per cent lighter and considerably stronger than TVR’s standard 18-inch wheel. Solafloor supplies heating products and has agreed a sponsorship deal to raise its brand awareness in the UK.
The team is currently negotiating further deals to fill the remaining two sponsorship placements on the car.
