BENTLEY AZURE MULLINER 2003

We are pleased to offer this beautiful Bentley Azure on behalf of a long standing GQ client.

The Bentley Azure was launched in 1995 as the convertible version of the Continental R coupe. Designed with the support of Pininfirina it was the epitome of sophistication and luxury, with just over 1,400 examples produced during a 9 year production run. At the time of launch the Azure was one of the most expensive cars in production, reflecting the quality of materials used and the very best hand built construction from the craftsmen and craftswomen at Crew.

Powered by the venerable 6.75l Bentley V8 the Azure produced over 360bhp, which was enough to provide strong performance, despite the 2.6 tonne curbweight. Recognised by road testers as an anachronism of the time with a unique ability to provide a feelgood factor beyond any other vehicle for the driver and passenger. The experience of driving one today is, if anything, even more special.

The car we are pleased to market is a 5 owner example and comes from the final year of production (2003) and therefore benefits from all of the enhancements that Bentley applied through the lifecycle of the car, including the uprated 385bhp engine. As with all Azures the specification of this car is unique and is finished in Storm Silver with black leather interior and burr walnut veneers. A discreet Mulliner specification car, the first owner opted for the mesh front grilles and wing vent grilles, a single twin exhaust, and ‘Mulliner’ branded door tread plates.

Having covered under 40,000 miles in the last 21 years, this lightly used example has been a much loved part of our clients wider collection. It benefits from full Bentley main dealer and specialist servicing, with the last service carried out at 36,237 miles by Bentley specialist Chris Moroney. This included refurbishment of the rear brakes as well as some new seat cables. In June 2019 at 33,962 miles, the same specialist also carried out a full 12,000-mile service, with fresh coolant, new mineral oils, replacement spark plugs, new front brake pads, and new brake accumulators. The air-conditioning pump compressor was also renewed and refilled, with the total bill coming to around £3,200. A full summary of the service history is included below, and the vendor states that all invoices from 2005 onwards are available. More recently the hood mechanism has been renewed at a cost of almost £5,000
