I thought the second-hand+glide thing was probably being overstated everywhere, but in person it's quite mesmerising.
It is.Also, if you're interested in horology (as I am) you need a spring drive in your collection. The story of how it was invented, the technology, the case polishing etc etc makes a Grand Seiko and spring drive (in particular) a bit of a must have.
I buy watches primarily for movements, maybe I'm a bit weird.
I don't think that's weird at all. I like dials and movements. Interesting for me includes mechanical (telling the time with just springs and levers and gears is astounding), radio controlled, high accuracy quartz, and solar, but Spring Drive was always the pinnacle.
I may be done, but if not the next will be jumping seconds mechanical.

Nice. I looked at the gold/grey but went grey/grey in the end. Glad I did, but I struggle to see the hands in direct light. Combination of poor eyesight and Rolex making the bloody hands the same colour as the dial. Doh!
I've swapped back to my Sky Dweller after a month or so of wearing my Planet Ocean.... What a difference - the Omega is probably the most immediately legible watch in my collection, night or day. Very clear. The Rolex is probably the worst. I like the Rolex for the cleverness of the movement, but it's frustratingly poor to read at times.lauda said:

We may disagree about some other things but that’s a stunner. I was searching for a blood moon, but it really caught my eye. Fingers crossed it's as good as it looks. They have a lot of interesting pieces.

Assuming I like the real thing as much as I like the photos (and have done for several years) then hopefully this will be coming soon (against every financial best practice ethos...)
Can't wait, love the reverse panda look and at 38mm it's a great size.

Wanted one of these for a while. Spotted the auction with 4 minutes left on the clock, made a snap decision I hope I don't regret.
Is this the 42mm (5524R) version ?
Congratulations !
