Such a shame about the headlights, they really should have found a way to keep the aesthetics of the older design as it looked so much more cohesive.

The rest looks nice mind.. Purposeful..

Tis a bit silly now, don't you think?
Maybe they just put it at the front of every article about a car that’s a bit rubbish?

Rear end and interior look okay, the rest not so much... bit awkward really.

I like it- it's different. Nice interior too.

But then I like Morgan's as well so I have dodgy taste

I've always had a think for the 914, and this sounds like a great project.

However, like a few have said the front just doesn't look right and the whole restomod thing is now overwhelming with every Tom, Dick and Harry churning them out. Glad it's got an ICE motor and not jumped on the EV powertrain though.

Well I think it looks fabulous.

Agree that it's disappointing it's another mega-money garage queen candidate.

Love it, especially the interior. If it's around 900/950 kgs then 250bhp would have been perfect.

What does this offer that a five grand Boxster doesn't? Nostalgia for a car that was never especially popular back in the day?

I think they put it in every rubbish article, so somebody will remark on it, and somebody else will reply to it, leading to more clicks.

Whilst I'm sure I'd have to sell my house to buy it, I rather like its ugly sense of purpose smile

Not really a 'ducktail' spoiler on this thing, more like a duckling or fledgling spoiler, its that small....

Not keen on the oversized wheels, nor the front aspect, for all the reasons others have mentioned.

Smaller wheels and a front based on the original would make it better, but I still don't see myself buying one when I could get a Gayman, Cockster or even a good 911 for much less...

With those matte black plastics on the front it looks like a smart roadster - that's not a good thing. That front end is horrific - I think I can see why the rear was in the main photo.

Also, removing pop-ups from a car should be a crime.

Would I still love to drive it? Yes.

I can’t be the only one who prefers the originals; Singer et al included.

Restomods, almost by definition, have built in obsolescence - they’re highly over-styled and built to the fashions of the moment. An original 914, whilst not the prettiest car Porsche have made, will always look cool.

This just tries too hard.

Repetition is the secret of comedy. If you don't find it funny, it's because they haven't done it enough.

The restyling and widening is an absolute crime. The clean modernist 60's styling of the original is superb. I don't care how well this drives or how much power it has. Horrendous.
