Id be interested to hear this also, from what I have heard, they are pretty reliable motors for a supercar. I'll have one someday.
The two cars have had completely different faults - one is an 06 E gear coupe and the other an 08 plate E gear spyder. The problems vary from intermitent electrical faults and gearbox/clutch problems on the coupe to engine management faults, and then a more serious engine valve problem on the Spyder eventually resulting in a complete engine rebuild (car had less than 2000 miles on it).
Perhaps they just had bad luck but it has put both of them off buying another again. From what I have read on here, I think that on the whole they are generally reliable cars; but if something does go wrong the last thing I would want is the aggro of having to sort out having the car picked up and taken away to a dealer on the other side of the country to put right some niggly fault.
I sold my 997S some time ago and its been three years since I had a Ferrari; the urge to get back into the performance fold is becoming overwhelming - but the head is having the final say over the heart at the moment ... but if the rumours of 25k off list for an LP560 are true .. then perhaps i`ll take a chance after Xmas.... watch this space.. failing which F430's are starting to look very good value for money ..
I did about 9k in about 5 months in the wet, dry, motorway etc and had no problems whatsoever.
My car never skipped a beat and would have another (in part ex for my wife) in an instant
