A picture a day... biker banter (Vol 6)

As they’ve moved to the new ECE 22.06 the shells have to be a minimum thickness which is quite a bit more than before, so a lot of helmets have seen a weight increase.
They all have to have locking visors now too.
I went from a GT Air 2 to a GT Air 3 and I think it’s about 250g heavier, both with the appropriate Sena SRL systems fitted.

After a six month wait, finally got the fairing back from the painter., for my 650/1170 He's good and cheap, so expected a long leadtime..
I ran out of garage space sometime ago, so I have to work outside, not ideal in typical English weather. This week got a small rental workshop on a nearby farm, which I've been trying to get for 5 years. Its very secure, big enough for my boxes of spares and 8 or 9 bikes, and cheap. The only downside is it has no power, but I can live with that. With a few bikes and all my spares moved to the new unit, I should be able to make quicker progress on my current projects... and more dangerously now have room for another bike or two...

Didnt know that. I bought the GT Air 2 at the show as it was a run out so with the Sena Mesh was about £550. Wanted toe Air 3 but couldnt justify the extra few hundredThey all have to have locking visors now too.

Was a proper noisy lid despite people saying how quiet they are until I sealed the bottom cheeks in with some double sided padding through. Anything over 70-80 was ridiculous

Love a bank holiday weekend when the weather's mostly on our side
Ran my little 250 in Saturday. It had already done 3 heat cycles so I did circa 50-60 miles before gradually bringing it into the powerband 8k+ but only briefly. One more ride and she'll be good to go
Sunday had an incredible ride on my Tuono - damn that bikes good and comes into its own on dry days
Did a lot of miles, probably near 200 with my group with various biker cafe stops
Monday I went racing. Track held up pretty good until heavens opened about 2pm as I was racing. Finished the race taking my goggles off half way through but struggled with my contact lenses. Got 2nd overall in class though

Looking great! Did it get a rebuild because it gave up, or for more power? Sorry I can't remember.gareth_r said:

... is fitting a big Z motor into the 650 frame relatively straightforward, or does the frame need butchery?
You need a fully equipped workshop with a Jeff in it. gareth_r said:

I have the former, and have built/rebuilt quite a few bikes and cars. Just wondering if it was an easy drop-in or not. I did manage to squeeze an LS7 into a Tuscan Challenge chassis
