The V8s I like are the ones that make that all American burble barely above walking pace. I'd trundle about in one of those quite happily. So maybe the C6 for me.
The closest V8 I got to that was the X5 4.8iS I had, that always had a bit of a American feel to it noise wise I thought. Whereas the V8 in the Cerbera, and the V8 in the E92 M3 were completely different noise wise in comparison for V8's I thought. The V8 in the M3 didn't sound like a V8 at all(as standard anyway), and the V8 in the Cerbera was a properly angry sounding thing at the top of the revs, a bit race car if you like.

That c6 looks superb. Great cars and reliable too.
Agreed. I’m on the hunt for one similar but yellow just not the colour for me. Red, black or white ideally but want a manual C6 and a European supplied car with COC for export. cerb4.5lee said:

The coyote V8 in my 2022 Mustang does sound bloody good (particularly by 2022 standards) but not a patch on the RV8 in my old Chimaera!
Flat-plane crank V8s like in the Cerb have never done as much for me as they don't have that classic off-beat warble, although a Ferrari 355 at high revs with a suitable exhaust does sound pretty special- almost similar to a screaming V12.
Out of that list it would have to be the Vantage for me, albeit in coupe form. For me still the prettiest modern coupe ever made and might just tempt me out of my Mustang in a couple of years as i can't see them ever being any cheaper than they are currently.
F-type also looks amazing value though. And I would love another RV8 TVR at some point, but love our Tuscan too much to give up our only garage space!
Cracking list.
There’s only one reason I wouldn’t choose the Marcos - already got an LM! That Aston is rather lovely, though…

I live Marcus's so fee of the later LM or Mantara are ever on sale and coupe versions are hen's teeth
Redline Sports cars currently has 3 Mantaras for sale and one is a coupe. https://redlinesportscars.com/cars-for-sale/
The Vantage in that colour does look rather lovely. I love the idea of a convertible but think they lose some of the lines of the coupe. I’m looking to buy a V8 Vantage in the not too distant future as a retirement gift to myself. My budget will be around £30,000 so this would certainly be on my to view list. However the interior shot of the drivers seat/footwell isn’t selling the car. You’d have thought a quick valet and fixing the sagging carpet before taking the pics? Perhaps that would have put another couple of grand on the price.
for me from those in this thread,
TVR Griffith 500, the most fun even when driving slowly, the sound, the short power curve, just look at the pedal and it goes
oke not the fastest or best, but most thrills and vibes through your body I guess.
Marcos? never owned one, but I guess thats something special as well, ok not for daily work and in trafic ala the TVR, but mostly for fun rides or so you not think to much of other things like stress, when you drive a TVR or I guess also Marcos, the car gives you attention, they 'talk' ?
The AMG SLK55 would also be on my list, compact V8 with such hardtop-ish roof and lots of low down power and also a rare type SLK
