Would you want to negotiate with "a professional mind re-programmer"? Does it work like Jedi Mind tricks? You say, "Okay I think its worth £69K", he just waves his hand and says, "you want to pay me the additional £30K" and you blindly agree?

Guess it was her car...

'Lord' Speakman was once a Member of LCUK, just for part of the one year when he had a 220mph+ Diablo SV, in yellow, that frightened him when travelling at over 69.99mph, just the once... (as seen on TV!)

He had the registration 10RD on the car, as I recall and he said (to me, and on TV) that he knew it was the fastest car ever made, because the people he bought it from convinced him it was, obviously.

Please note that a near-to-Preston/Manchester and the M60/M62/M6 motorway nexus location 'issue' may well apply in this case - anybody who knows, knows of whom, which and what I speak.

back on topic: any Gallardos now for sale at sub-£60,000 will have even more of the costs of a £120k+ car although, maybe I could be wrong, maybe ... perhaps the beginnings of a knee-jerk, media-influenced reaction has reached into the Lamborghini village, perhaps...

When I first looked for a low mileage immaculate G about 18 months ago I couldn't find any for lower than £80K whereas now I've seen similar '04' cars hovering around £60k but they all seem to be black!

I'm waiting for the right one to come along and maybe if the market dips a Giallo Midas to £60k I might be tempted! I'll be sad to see my Boxster go but needs must!

I'm glad you agree! At first I thought yellow was a bit too 'look at me' then reality kicked in and I though "it's a f**king Lambo for f**ks sake!"....

I do like it in black but it loses something... not sure what it is.

The one Martin Thomas bought (apologies if it was someone else) for £65k would have definitely been my choice but I'm not too sure on the badges on the wings. Top choice either way congrats! I hope I find a suitable one soon so I can post messages of glee! ;-)

A collegue of mine has just bought an early manual car in silver for £58000.
I reckon, they are going to drop a lot more yet.

If you think that's cheap, just search for AM V8 Vantages, Bentley GTs, and Maserati QPs.eek

Well just for info i saw a silver 16k miles egear go through the ring at BCA Blackbushe last week for £58,200. The very same car was/is advertised on Autotrader thru a dealers near Bradford for £68,995.

I think thats about correct price wise at the moment.

The prices seem to be so up and down. IMO the dealers are charging at least 10 grand over what they are worth. The one at Classy Chassis's in Stoke was listed at £60k and only had 10k on the clock. I think that's a fair price for a low spec'ed early model. I've seen similar in other dealers for £70k+!!!

Was looking there and they've dropped so much it's unreal but this is one of the first I saw http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/714401.htm not cheap and high spec but some colours just don't suite some cars and the AM V8 just shouldn't be orange!

The car that Martin bought was my brothers it must have been the best car avalible this year so far for that money,as for the wing badges they are only stickers that i had made so can be taken off easily.

Auto,

When I saw the advert, with the spec and everything else I thought: "That's the one!" It's a great deal at £65k. Well done Mart!

There's a low spec one that's up for sale at McGurk (also on PH classifieds), anyone else looked at it? It's got too many miles on it for the price (£69,980) so I'm holding off until the right one comes along but I thought I'd go check it out if I'm in the area. It's a starting point anyway!

I'd be tempted at any around the £60k mark, yellow, decent spec with around 10k on the clock. With the global panic that's on at the moment I think it'll be Armageddon come January! I've waited 2 years for a Gallardo so I suppose I can wait a little longer!

I wouldn't wait too long... Central banks slashing interest rates and putting so much liquidity into the system credit is free ..... i'm not saying the economy will be booming anytime soon, but i sense a change in sentiment not too far off. Car prices won't be going up, but there is likely to be far less distressed sellers ahead.

That's if the rate cut get passed on - which it won`t; very few people will ever see physical interest rates as per BOE; most mortgages / credit agreements have a collar setting a minimum level of interest; those that don`t will have a clause allowing the lender to "reserve their position".

The above aside - car prices are going to continue getting a hammering in 2009. Too many cars were sold on cheap finance with big balloon payments; not a problem if the car has sound residuals and plenty of buyers; but that is not the market anymore. Some people going to get very badly burnt at the end of their agreements; more so if the economy is in recession; so I would predict more distressed sellers to appear.

Even if rates for cars do come down substantially; the days of cheap easy available finance will be long gone for many. The next 12 mths will certainly be interesting.

I believe the political will to get cheaper credit into the real economy is strong and the banks will be forced to toe the line. However, thats another story..... Cars right now are cheap, resisting the temptation to upgrade to a white Spyder is proving difficult....
